Korba's daughter Poorvi Kanwar won gold medal in Taekwondo after 8 years
CG News, Korba News: Korba's Poorvi Kanwar is representing Chhattisgarh state in the 68th National Taekwondo School Games Competition held from 8 to 12 November in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh.
Poorvi Kanwar has added to the pride of Chhattisgarh and won a gold medal for the state in Taekwondo. Coach Lokesh Rathore expressed happiness over the medal that came after 8 years and said our girls are also no less than boys.
Poorvi Kanwar, daughter of Korba, has captured a gold medal for Chhattisgarh in the 68th National Taekwondo School Competition going on in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, from 8 to 12 November. Poorvi was participating for Chhattisgarh in the weight category above 38 kg. Poorvi had increased the pride of Korba this year by winning bronze in Khelo India, Cadet National, and Sub Junior.
Her coach Lokesh Rathore has expressed happiness over Poorvi's success. Coach Rathore said that after 8 years Chhattisgarh has won the gold medal in school games. Gold medal winner Poorvi Kanwar has brought laurels to the state as well as the energy capital. He said that Poorvi has given a befitting reply to those who underestimate girls in sports. Poorvi Kanwar has increased the prestige of Korba by winning a bronze medal in Khelo India, a bronze in Cadet National, and a bronze medal in Sub Junior this year.
