Mercedes-Benz India has launched two new variants in the list of high-performance sports vehicles - Mercedes-AMG GT 63 and GT 63 Pro. Both of these are priced at around Rs 3 crore and over Rs 3.5 crore (ex-showroom) respectively. Both these cars are upgraded versions of the previous AMG GT, which was discontinued in 2020, and are re-entering India after almost five years. Cars can be booked online or from the nearest dealership. Delivery of GT 63 will start by the end of 2025. The powerful GT 63 Pro will be delivered in early 2026.

Both GT 63 and GT 63 Pro use a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, and the same engine itself is also Mercedes' 'hand-built' engine. On GT 63, the engine produces 585 horsepower and 800 Nm torque. On the other hand, by increasing the GT 63 Pro's horsepower, it produces 612 horsepower and 850 Nm torque. Both the car and the GT 63 Pro have a 9-speed automatic transmission that transmits the power through all four wheels.

GT 63 accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.2 seconds. However, if GT 63 Pro has the option of Cup 2R tires, then the time reduces further, to 3.1 seconds. GT 63 has a maximum speed of 317 kmph, 2 km ahead of the standard GT 63.

Mercedes-AMG has also introduced a limited edition called the GT 63 Pro Motorsport Collector's Edition. In terms of performance, it is similar to the Pro model, but it gets some exclusive details. Such as special paint schemes and interior touches inspired by the brand's F1 cars.

The new GT 63 has been made bigger and longer than before. The biggest change is that it now has a 2 + 2 seating configuration, which was previously available only in the four-door AMG GT. This means that now the rear seats can also be used, making this car more versatile.

The overall look of the car is the same as before, with a long bonnet, sloping roofline, and liftback style tailgate. But now updates like newly designed headlights, alloy wheels, and an active rear spoiler have been included in it. The GT 63 Pro has a more aggressive look with different alloy wheels and sharp bumpers.

The design of this car also sees the use of F1 technology. It has an active underbody profile, which generates downforce through the Venturi effect at speeds above 100 kmph, making the car stick more to the road. With flush door handles and smooth body lines, its look looks very clean and futuristic.

The rear is also quite bold, with thin LED taillights connected by a dark trim strip. A rear spoiler that moves at five different angles and a rear diffusor with dual exhaust make it a complete performance car.
