India won the 27th match of the T20 World Cup 2026 against Pakistan by 61 runs. After the match, the Pakistani skipper Salman Ali Agha said that the pitch was responsible for the team’s defeat, along with the players.

The Pakistani team, who were chasing 176 runs, had a very poor start. The team lost 4 of its wickets in just 4.5 overs. It was a huge blow to the team, and hence, the team was unable to come back in the game, being all out in just 114 runs in 18 overs.

After this match, SalmanAliAgha, captain of Pakistan, stated that they had decided to put four spin bowlers in this match, but none of them had performed in the expected manner. They did not get their plan executed in the right manner, and a poor start had already complicated things for them.

Salman also admitted that the pitch was better in the second innings, but his team failed to adapt to the conditions. He said that in such big matches, players' emotions run high, and the team needs to learn to control them.

He further said that they had fielded four spinners in this match, but today they had a bad day. There was some lack of planning. The batting also did not start well. If 3-4 wickets fall in the powerplay, you are always left chasing the match. The pitch was better in the second innings, but we did not adapt to the conditions.

Having lost one of three matches, Pakistan has slipped to third place in the Group A points table. Their net run rate is -0.403, while the USA (+0.787) has won two of four matches and moved to second place. With a hat-trick of wins, India has entered the Super 8s in the T20 World Cup 2026.

Pakistan will play its final league match against Namibia on February 18th, a win in which could see them qualify for the Super 8s. Captain Agha said, "We have played many such matches. Now the next match is in two days, and we have to focus on that. We have to win that match and qualify for the next round; after that, it will be a new tournament."
