Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh) [India] : Galgotias University has secured ₹42 Lakh research grant from IIT Bombay’s Technology Innovation Hub for IoT (TIH-IoT). The funding, awarded under the Technology Development Program, will support the project titled “Development of Intelligent Ripening Detector for Mango and Watermelon.”
TIH-IoT is a not-for-profit Section 8 company established at IIT Bombay. It operates under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems, an initiative implemented by the Department of Science and Technology , Government of India.
The focus of the project is to develop a cost-effective, portable, and intelligent ripening detection system which can identify ripening stages and detect artificial ripening in different species of mango and watermelon. Dr. Agniv Tapadar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering at Galgotias University, is the Principal Investigator of the project.
