LinkedIn is a very popular professional social media platform that is used by several people. There is no restriction on who will use it and who will not, but there is different demand for people of different communities. Now, a professional social media platform called Famm Connect has been launched to meet the demands of the LGBTQ+ community.
It has been launched by Kat Perez and Mariana G. Rogolo couple. On Famm Connect, people of the LGBTQ+ community will be able to connect with each other professionally. Perez and Mariana also come from this community and they have also launched Famm before this, which is an LGBTQ+ marketplace on which clothes, household items, beauty products, and services are listed.
Perez and Mariana are from Northern California and are parents to a three-year-old boy. They see Famm Connect as an extension of their e-commerce site. Famm Connect's founders say it's a safe platform designed for LGBTQ+ professionals where they can network, find mentors, and collaborate on future business ventures.
The platform aims to become the leading social network for members of the LGBTQ+ community, allowing them to easily connect with others with similar goals or interests. Some of the features boasted include a feed for sharing and discovering posts, direct messaging, and a section to manage your connections. The interface is very simple and straightforward, with the highlight being the "Open to" tags.
Users can add these tags in their profiles to indicate what they are using the app for, such as preparing for a coffee chat, reaching out for mentorship, volunteering, and so on. It helps clarify the intention when one member reaches out to the other.
An invitation-only social network, access to Famm Connect relies entirely on getting invited by someone. Starting from the States, it is live for those in Canada and the United Kingdom using iOS and Android platforms.
