An elderly couple has filed a petition in the Supreme Court after a stray dog bit six people in three months. They expressed concern over the menace and dangers posed by stray dogs. They requested the court to provide protection and expedite their case.
An elderly couple filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking the removal of a stray dog from near their home. The municipal corporation has not acted on numerous complaints of dog bites.
Seventy-year-old Sunita Agarwal stated in her petition that the dog has bitten six people in the Maharana Pratap Bagh area in three months, ranging from an eight-year-old child to a 70-year-old man. The municipal corporation captured the dog on October 22nd, but released it eight days later. After being released, the dog bit two more people on October 31st and November 3rd.
Among those bitten by the dog was a child named Vaidik, who was playing outside his home. His mother, Riddhi, said his leg was bleeding from the bite, and the child had not gone outside for the past month. Another woman, Sonam Chaudhary, was riding a scooter when she was bitten in two places on her leg.

Saurabh Gandhi, president of the Maharana Pratap Bagh Residents Association, said numerous complaints have been made to the corporation's helpline number and the 311 app.
The petition states that the threat of dog bites has made it nearly impossible for the elderly to go for morning walks and for children to go outside. The petition seeks the Supreme Court's direction to capture and remove the dog.
