Duleep Trophy 2026: Sunil Gavaskar Criticises East Zone’s Approach, Calls for Wider BCCI Cricket Advisory Committee

According to Gavaskar, it is necessary to make a number of changes to the Cricket Advisory Committee of BCCI. Gavaskar believes that the committee should include names like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, Ravi Shastri, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, and Virender Sehwag, who could also become president and secretary. He believes that this committee will be of great importance when it interacts with the captain and the head of the CAC. Such a committee should also be established in women's cricket.

The current CAC members, including Ashok Malhotra, Jatin Paranjpe, and Sulakshana Nayak, were appointed in 2022. They are responsible for overseeing the head coach, national selectors, and other matters. A committee conducts interviews and then selects candidates for these positions.
