DDCA issues tender to become franchise owner in the first season of Delhi Premier League
Delhi Premier League: DDCA has invited bids to become the owner of a team franchise in its upcoming state-level T20 league. The cricket league for men and women has been named Delhi Premier League.
The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA), a BCCI-recognized state organization, has requested bids for the ownership of a team franchise in its next state-level T20 tournament. The men's and women's cricket league is known as the Delhi Premier League. The DDCA has published a 'Notice asking Tender' (NIT) asking bidders for the proposed team franchise to compete in the league. The regulatory council had recommended launching the new league in August/September 2024.
It is being told that this league will initially include six men's and women's teams, which will participate in the league under the round-robin format during each season. There will be play-off matches after the first round to decide the winner, runner-up, and third place. The DDCA may change the number of teams participating in the league over time.
The minimum bid to become a team owner has been set at Rs 25 lakh. After evaluation, qualified bidders will have to make a presentation before a final decision is taken. The successful bidder will be contracted for five seasons of DPL or a period of five years. The DDCA reserves the right to terminate the contract in case of any violation of the agreement. The last date for submitting bids is July 15.
