This year the Army Day parade will be quite different and grand. For the first time, the participation of a women's marching contingent of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) will be seen. At the same time, four tableaux will be displayed, including those based on the Mission Olympic Wing of the force. Apart from this, a women's Agniveer contingent of the Bangalore-based Corps of Military Police (CMP), Center and School, and a group of marching 'robotic mules' will also mark their presence in the parade for the first time.

It is worth noting that the Army Day parade will be held on January 15 at the Bombay Engineering Group and Center located in Pune, Maharashtra, under the Southern Command of the Army. On this occasion, there will also be a program called 'Gaurav Gatha', in which the development journey from ancient times to the modern era will be displayed. If sources are to be believed, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh can participate in this program.

The theme of the 77th Army Day Parade is 'Samartha Bharat, Saksham Sena'. Its purpose is to show the strength of the Indian Army and its role in strengthening the country.

Defense sources said that some of the equipment to be displayed during the parade include a K9 Vajra self-propelled howitzer, BMP-2 Sarath infantry combat vehicle, T-90 tank, Swati weapon locating radar, Sarvatra bridging system, multi-barrel rocket system, ATOR N1200 all-terrain vehicle, drone jammer system and mobile communication nodes.

For the first time this year, a women's marching contingent of NCC and a contingent of women Agniveers from the Army's Military Police Center located in Bangalore will participate in the parade. Apart from this, 12 robotic mules, which are part of the new technology, will also participate in the parade. Let us tell you, these robotic mules were inducted into the Indian Army last year. These are a step towards the modernization of the army. These fast-moving machines can carry heavy loads, reach inaccessible areas, and can also fight terrorists.

Apart from this, four such tableaux, which will be paraded here, will also appear on Republic Day. One such tableau would be on the Mission Olympic Wing of the Indian Army, which strives for excellence in Indian sports. Yet another tableau will present the contribution of former soldiers. One tableau will depict the army's environmental initiatives and green initiatives, while the fourth tableau will be based on new technologies that the army uses, such as drones, nanotechnology, and UAVs. Many more attractive performances, such as a dog show, an exhibition of weapons and equipment, and stalls of defense companies, are expected this time.

This year's parade will be graced with Paralympic athlete and former army soldier Muralikant Petkar, who was the gold medalist of swimming in the year 1972. In addition to these, dog shows, exhibition of weapons and equipment, and other stalls by various defense companies would also be aligned before and after the parade. Till now, Army Day was usually celebrated with a parade in Delhi but was conducted for the first time in Bangalore in 2023 and will be conducted in Lucknow in 2024.
