If you are fond of American bikes, then there is big news for you. The central government has announced a cut in the duty on American bikes. This announcement has been made in the Union Budget. This will bring down the prices of American bikes like Harley Davidson and Ducati. The government has taken this decision after Donald Trump's tariff threat.
Now you can buy bikes like Harley Davidson and Ducati at a lesser price than ever before. In a move to try and preserve the growth of Indian exports in America, in its budget, the government lowered the duty for many goods entering India from America.
American bikes have also been included in them. India wants to make its market simple for America in consideration of America's new Trump government policy. Otherwise, the Trump government can levy additional customs duties on Indian goods exported to America, and therefore, Indian goods will become costly in America and sales will suffer.
According to the decision taken in the budget, the 50 percent duty on bikes with less than 1600 cc capacity coming from America has been increased to 40 percent. At the same time, the 50 percent duty on bikes with more than 1600 cc capacity has been reduced to 30 percent. The decision to reduce import duty will be considered effective immediately.
