Threatening to blow up RBI, email received in Russian language; case registered

Threatening Mail To RBI: Earlier, six schools in Delhi received a bomb threat mail on Friday morning. After this, the investigating agencies searched the school premises. However, nothing has been found anywhere at the moment. Earlier on December 9, at least 44 schools in Delhi received threatening emails.

A threatening email was sent to the Reserve Bank of India on Friday. It threatened to blow up the Mumbai office of RBI. The threatening mail came to the official email ID of RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra. The threat was given in the Russian language. On receiving information about the threatening email, Mumbai Police has registered a case against the sender under the relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS).

This threatening mail came a few days after the new RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra took charge as the 26th Governor of the Reserve Bank. He has replaced Shaktikanta Das, who held the responsibility of this post for six years. Malhotra, an IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre, was selected by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In fact, a threatening email was received on the official website of RBI. The email was sent in Russian language. In this, there was a threat of blowing up the bank with a bomb. According to Mumbai Police Zone 1 DCP, a case has been registered against an unknown accused at Mata Ramabai Marg (MRA Marg) Police Station. The investigation of the case is going on.
