This morning, BCCI made a significant statement.  Rinku Singh, a left-handed batter, has received a major gift from the selection committee by being named to the India A squad. Beginning on January 24, the India A team will take on the England Lions in a four-day test match in Ahmedabad. Rinku Singh has a fantastic chance to establish himself on the Test squad. He can be added to the senior test team if he can demonstrate strong performance here, such as in limited overs.

He has played some attractive innings in this season of the Ranji Trophy, as a result of which he has been given a chance in India A.

Virat Kohli will not play in the opening two games of the 5-Test series against England beginning on January 25 due to personal concerns. His successor has not yet been revealed by BCCI. However, it is quite unlikely that Sarfaraz Khan, Rinku Singh, and Rajat Patidar will be allowed to start in their place in the first two games. Rinku Singh has been given a shot by India, but BCCI has stated that he would also be given a chance in the Test team. Rinku Singh, a middle-order batsman, recently put in an outstanding 92-run innings against Kerala.

Cheteshwar Pujara has played three matches for Saurashtra so far in Ranji Trophy 2024 and has scored more than 40 each time in five innings. Pujara has also scored a double-century in a match.
