According to cyber security company Group-IB, this Trojan is known as GoldDigger and is a banking Trojan. This primarily affects users in Asia-Pacific (APAC). This Trojan was previously observed in Android gadgets.

According to the report, this Trojan is stealing the facial recognition data of iPhone users. Apart from this, it is also stealing other important and personal information present in the phone and passing it on to hackers, although Apple has not yet received information about this bug.

According to Group-IB, this iOS Trojan first appeared on Android devices in October 2023. This Trojan targets banking apps, e-wallets and crypto wallets. It was first seen in iOS devices in Vietnam and after that, it has been identified in the phones of users of many Asian countries including India.

This Trojan is present in iPhone with the file name GoldPickaxe.iOS. It can also scan the documents lying on the phone. With the help of this Trojan, deepfake videos or photos can be created with the help of AI by taking Face ID data and based on that someone can be blackmailed or defamed. This Trojan has reached the iPhone through the TestFlight app which is for testing the beta app of iPhone. Now it is being delivered to the phone through Mobile Device Management (MDM).
