On World Telecommunications Day (17 May), Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia discussed the telecommunication revolution that has occurred in the nation in the last few years. He said the telecommunication revolution is expanding at lightning speed in all the countries of the world and India is at the vanguard of the journey under Prime Minister Modi. May 17 is observed as World Telecommunication and Information Society Day. Its objective is to bring the social transformation caused by the Internet and new technology to the knowledge of the entire world. Also in decreasing the digital divide.
Referring to 6G, the Union Communications Minister said that in the coming days India will play a leading role in making rules for 6G technology. There has been great success in the expansion of 5G in India, in just 22 months this network has reached 82 percent of the population of 99% of the districts of the country.
He further said that new services are going to be started in the postal system. India Post is one of the largest logistics and distribution networks in the world, with 1.64 lakh post offices and 2.5 lakh postal employees. Scindia said that in 2008 he designed the logo of the Postal Department, whose slogan was Postal Service is Public Service. All postal employees work with this spirit. India will continue to lead the telecom revolution.
