Wipro's Azim Premji say, "This is one of my biggest mistakes" about Narayana Murthy, know the story

Narayana Murthy, one of the founding members of IT giant Infosys, has revealed that he had applied for a job at Wipro but did not get the job. Narayana Murthy said, 'Once he was refused a job in IT company Wipro.' Narayanamurthy said that 'only after this he started seriously considering starting his own company.' Former Wipro chairman Azim Premji also admitted that not giving the job to Narayana Murthy was one of his biggest mistakes.

In an interview, Narayana Murthy said that 'Azim once told me that not giving me a job was one of his biggest mistakes. If this had not happened then there would have been no one to challenge Wipro. Both Wipro and Infosys are counted among the leading IT companies of India and both are based in Bengaluru. Wipro was started by Azim Premji's father MH Hasham Premji in December 1945. Infosys was started in July 1981 by Narayana Murthy, Nandan Nilekani, Chris Gopalakrishnan, SD Shibulal, K Dinesh, NS Raghavan and Ashok Arora. Today Infosys and Wipro are each other's biggest rival companies and Infosys has left Wipro far behind in terms of market valuation.

The first contribution of Infosys was made by Sudha Murthy, the wife of Narayana Murthy, who contributed Rs 10,000. Since Sudha Murthy was the most educated of the seven of us, Narayana Murthy finally acknowledged that he made a mistake in denying his wife employment at Infosys. Before founding Infosys, Narayana Murthy founded another business called Softronix, but it failed. He then worked in Pune at Patni Computer.
