Congress leader Salman Khurshid reversed his statement earlier and said- 'I do not live there'

A statement by senior Congress leader and former Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid had created a ruckus in politics. As a member of an all-party delegation to Indonesia, Khurshid had explained how there had been prosperity and democracy in Jammu and Kashmir after Article 370 was abrogated. Congress leader Salman Khurshid has now reversed his statement made at this time. According to him, he does not reside in the Union Territory, and as such, he does not know about it.

Talking about the statement of prosperity in Kashmir, Congress MP Salman Khurshid said, that I do not know, you tell me whether development has taken place or not. Why are you asking me? I do not live in Kashmir. He said that I go there only occasionally.

The Congress leader further said that the real issue of Jammu and Kashmir is the status of the state. People elected from there in the elections are demanding that the status of the state be restored. We are all unanimous on this issue. Therefore, it would be better if we paid attention to this issue.

During this time, Congress leader Salman Khurshid described the visit of the delegation sent for 'Operation Sindoor' as successful. He said that he would inform his party and the government about it. He said that he himself did not go in the delegation; the party had sent him.

Congress leader Salman Khurshid had said that after the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, there has been prosperity and democratic progress there. He also added that this ended the notion that Jammu and Kashmir is different from other parts of India. While this statement allowed the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to take a dig at the Congress, there was a wave of discontent within the Congress as well after this statement.
