WI vs ENG T20 2024: Jos Buttler will returns to Team England and will captain the series
WI vs ENG T20 2024, West Indies vs England: England will play a five-match T20 series against West Indies under the leadership of Jos Buttler. Jos Buttler is making a comeback to international T20 cricket after battling injury for four months.
The West Indies team is feeling great after defeating England 2-1 in the three-match ODI series, but the visiting team, under the leadership of Jos Buttler, appears determined to win the five-match T20 series. After fighting an injury for four months, Jos Buttler is returning to the international scene in T20 cricket. In the semi-final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in June 2024, he faced India in his final match.
Under the leadership of Jos Buttler, England won the T20 World Cup title in 2022. However, the England team performed poorly in the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 and T20 Men's World Cup 2024. Due to this, while Matthew Mott was removed as coach, questions started being raised on the future of injured Jos Buttler.
Brendon McCullum replaced Matthew Mott as the head coach of the England team, and he chose to stick with Butler as captain for white-ball cricket. Now, Butler has come to bear the big responsibility of taking England forward in the limited-overs format matches.
Jos Buttler has so far captained England in 41 T20 matches, with 22 wins, losses of 17, and two which ended in draws. The win percentage under Butler's captaincy has been 53.65 and 41.46 loss percentage respectively. Jos Buttler has scored 3264 runs in 124 T20 Internationals, including one century and 24 half-centuries.
The five-Test series between West Indies and England will be played from 10 to 18 November 2024 (Indian time). The first match between West Indies and England will be played on November 10, the second on November 11, the third on November 15, the fourth on November 17 and the fifth on November 18.
