WhatsApp has added a new feature to improve user safety. The feature named 'Safety Overview' will notify you if a person like this adds you to an unfamiliar WhatsApp group, not in the contact list of your mobile phone.
This Meta-owned internet messaging service has taken this new step as a bid to halt fraud and scams. Through 'Safety Overview', users will not only receive comprehensive information about unknown groups but will also gain safety tips to avoid such groups.
According to WhatsApp, 'This will help you decide whether you want to stay in the group or leave it. You can exit the group without seeing the chat. If you can identify the group after seeing the 'Safety Overview', then you can choose to see more contacts for the chat.'
