Hyundai Exter's new S Plus and S(O) Plus Plus trims have been launched with a sunroof. This new variant has a sunroof, making this feature even more affordable for Exter. Two new variants, S Plus (AMT) and S(O) Plus (MT) have been added to the Hyundai Exter lineup. Let us know at what features and price it has been brought.

The new variant comes with a sunroof and is powered by the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. A CNG powertrain has not been introduced for the new Exter S(O) Plus.

This new Exter S(O) Plus variant sits between the mid-spec S(O) and SX variants. They're priced at Rs 7.65 lakh and Rs 8.23 lakh, respectively. With the new variant, the sunroof on the micro SUV has become more affordable by Rs 37,000 in the manual lineup and Rs 46,000 in the AMT lineup. Priced at Rs 8.23-lakh-8.90 lakh, the new Exter S Plus variant bridges the gap between the mid-spec S and SX variants. The 1.2-litre petrol engine does work here, churning out 83 PS and 114 Nm of torque.

The engine comes mated to a 5-speed AMT. This variant is not available in the CNG option.

This new variant is based on a single-pan sunroof and gets a lot of features from its donor trim. The feature suite includes an 8-inch touchscreen, semi-digital driver display, manual AC with rear vents, cruise control, electrically adjustable ORVMs, all power windows, electric foldable ORVMs, and so on. In terms of safety for passengers, it has been fitted out with six airbags, 3-point seatbelts for all seats, tire pressure monitoring system and hill-start assist in both the variants.

The Hyundai Xterra rivals the Tata Punch, Maruti Ignis, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Citroen C3 besides the Toyota Taser and Maruti Suzuki Fronx sub-4 metre crossovers.
