iPhone 17 Pro may have big changes in the camera, all three lenses will be 48 megapixels

There is a fresh leak regarding the iPhone 17 Pro that is scheduled to be released in September 2025 that reveals that this phone is set to get a huge boost to its camera system. Already this phone was making headlines because of its new look, upgraded display, and enhanced processor and now it is anticipated that the iPhone 17 Pro would be equipped with a 48-megapixel telephoto lens camera, which would be way more advanced than the 12-megapixel camera in the iPhone 16 Pro.

According to tech tipster Majin Bu, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will have a 48MP telephoto camera with a focal length of 85mm (as per 35mm format). This will be a big upgrade from the 12MP telephoto lens of the iPhone 16 Pro series, which had a focal length of 120mm.

This change has been made especially for portrait photography, which will see improvements in photo quality and depth. The new models are likely to get a maximum of 3.5x optical zoom, which is less than the 5x zoom of the iPhone 16 Pro, but the good thing is that with the help of in-sensor crop zoom technology, users can get 7x “lossless” digital zoom.
