Supreme Court Collegium Approves Appointments, Promotions for 26 Allahabad HC Judges

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of 12 lawyers as judges for the Allahabad High Court. Along with this, a proposal has also been sent to promote 14 judicial officers to the High Court. If the recommendations of the Collegium are accepted, the Allahabad High Court will get 26 new judges. This decision can bring significant changes in the judiciary.

If the government accepts the recommendations of the Supreme Court Collegium as is, then the Allahabad High Court will get 26 judges in the coming days. The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of 12 lawyers as judges in the Allahabad High Court. Along with this, the Collegium has also sent a recommendation to the government to promote 14 judicial officers to the High Court.

According to the statement released on the Supreme Court website, the Collegium approved the proposal to appoint 12 lawyers as High Court judges in the meeting held on September 1, 2025.

The lawyers recommended by the Collegium for appointment as High Court Judges are Vivek Saran, Adnan Ahmed, Vivek Kunmar Singh, Garima Prasad, Sudhanshu Chauhan, Abhdesh Kumar Chaudhary, Swarupama Chaturvedi, Jai Krishna Upadhyay, Siddharth Nandan, Kunal Ravi Singh, Indrajit Shukla, and Satya Veer Singh. Apart from this, the Collegium has also recommended the promotion of 14 judicial officers of Uttar Pradesh as High Court Judges.

The Collegium has recommended the judicial officers to be promoted as High Court Judges. The judicial officers recommended for promotion to High Court are Dr. Ajay Kumar-2, Chavan Prakash, Divesh Chandra Samant, Prashant Mishra-1, Tarun Saxena, Rajiv Bharti, Padam Narayan Mishra, Laxmi Kant Shukla, Jai Prakash Tiwari, Devendra Singh-1, Sanjeev Kumar, Vani Ranjan Agarwal, Achal Sachdeva, and Babita Rani.
