The hero of Zimbabwe's victory was Sikandar Raza, who scored 47 runs and also took an important wicket. This was Zimbabwe's third T20 victory over Sri Lanka. This is Zimbabwe's biggest win against a full-member team in this format of cricket.
The Zimbabweans had a poor start, losing the toss and electing to bat first. They lost two crucial wickets in the powerplay for just 40 runs. Bennett and Raza then added 61 runs for the third wicket. Bennett (49) fell to Hasaranga at the score of 101.
