DPL 2026: Pappu Yadav’s Son Sarthak Ranjan Smashes 64 Off 39 Balls, Boosts IPL Selection Hopes
Sarthak Ranjan Fifty in DPL 2026: In the seventh match of the Delhi Premier League 2026, MP Pappu Yadav's son and North Delhi Strikers captain Sarthak Ranjan played a blistering inning of 64 runs off 39 balls. However, despite Yash Bhatia's 90 and Sarthak's 64, Central Delhi Kings defeated North Delhi Strikers by 4 wickets.
Sarthak Ranjan, who is the son of independent member of parliament Pappu Yadav from the Purnia district in Bihar, performed exceptionally well in the recently held Delhi Premier League (DPL) game. On Monday night at Arun Jaitley Stadium, he scored 64 runs in 39 deliveries against the Central Delhi Kings, hitting 7 fours and 3 sixes.
The 29-year-old player started playing for Delhi T20 side in the year 2018. He has not been able to get selected for the Indian national team or even make a mark in the IPL till date. Though Sarthak is associated with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), he is still waiting to make his mark in the IPL. It is difficult for him to grab the playing XI or impact player slot considering the present KKR team.
Many players have found their way into IPL through DPL and one of them is Priyanshu Arya. This explosive innings by Sarthak Ranjan could open the doors of the IPL for him.
