RHUMI Rocket: Another achievement in the space sector, India launches its first reusable hybrid rocket
RHUMI Rocket Launch: The satellite will collect data for research purposes on global warming and climate change. The RHUMI rocket is equipped with a common fuel-based hybrid motor and electrically triggered parachute deployer. RHUMI is 100% pyrotechnic-free and 0% TNT. Mission RHUMI is being led by Anand Megalingam, founder of Space Zone.

India on Saturday launched from its Thiruvidandhai testing centre in Chennai its first ever indigenously made hybrid rocket - 'RHUMI-1'. The Tamil Nadu-based start-up, Space Zone India, has designed this rocket in association with Martin Group.
The mobile launcher characterized the propelled rocket in the suborbital trajectory. It is carrying 3 cube satellites and 50 PICO satellites.
The satellite will gather data for studies on global warming and climate change. The RHUMI rocket, though having a common fuel-based hybrid motor and electrically triggered parachute deployer, is itself 100% pyrotechnic, free, and 0% TNT.
Mission RHUMI is spearheaded by Anand Megalingam, founder of Space Zone, with guidance from Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai, former Director of ISRO Satellite Centre (ISAC). RHUMI-1 is an integrated rocket propellant system that combines both liquid and solid systems to realize the combined advantages and further improve efficiency while reducing operational costs. Space Zone India is a Chennai-based aero-technology company that aspires to bring space technology at low costs and in the long term.
