Realme 16 5G to Pack 7,000mAh Battery, IP69 Rating; Key Features Confirmed
The Realme 16 5G will be launched in India soon. The company has confirmed that the phone will come with an Android 16-based UI and a 7,000mAh battery.
Realme, a Chinese phone maker, has announced that the Realme 16 5G will be launched in India soon. The phone’s design was revealed on a microsite on an e-commerce website. The website has now been updated with the phone’s specifications and features, such as the screen size, maximum brightness, battery capacity, IP ratings, and cooling system. The phone will feature the latest UI based on Android 16. The phone will be a thin and light device with a dual-camera setup on the back, housed in a pill-shaped module.
The Chinese tech company has updated its dedicated microsite on Flipkart, confirming that the Realme 16 5G will be available for sale in India through the e-commerce platform in Air Black and Air White color options. It has been confirmed that the handset will feature a 7,000mAh battery and support 60W wired fast charging, AI Smart Charging, and AI Smart Power Saving Mode.
The Realme 16 5G is claimed to deliver approximately 21.67 hours of chatting on WhatsApp, approximately 22.86 hours of scrolling through Instagram Reels, 22.06 hours of watching videos on YouTube, or approximately six days of music listening on a single charge.

The smartphone maker also claims that the battery will remain functional after 1,600 charge cycles or six years of use. The Realme 16 5G will run on Android 16 based on the Realme UI 7.0 interface. The company says the upcoming handset will receive three years of OS upgrades and four years of security updates.
The Realme 16 5G will also feature a 6.57-inch display with a peak brightness of up to 4,200 nits, an 'instantaneous' touch sampling rate of 3,000Hz, 2,160Hz PWM dimming, and 1.07 billion colors. It has been confirmed that the phone will come with an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance. For thermal management, the Realme 16 5G will feature the company's AirFlow vapor chamber solution, which will have a heat dissipation area of 6,050 sq mm. It will be 8.1mm thick and weigh 183g.
Launched in Vietnam in January, the global variant of the Realme 16 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage. Furthermore, it features a dual rear camera unit, consisting of a 50-megapixel primary shooter and a 2-megapixel monochrome camera.
