Rajasthan HC Orders CBSE, State Board to Curb Students Skipping School for Coaching
The Rajasthan High Court has directed the CBSE and State Board of Secondary Education to prevent students in grades 9 to 12 from skipping school for coaching centers. Justices Dinesh Mehta and Anup Kumar ordered the boards to conduct inspections to check student attendance.

The Rajasthan High Court has instructed the CBSE and State Board of Secondary Education to stop students in grades 9 to 12 from missing school to go to coaching centers. Justices Dinesh Mehta and Anup Kumar instructed both boards to carry out surprise inspections to monitor student attendance during school hours.
The court also directed the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the situation. The court stated that student attendance in schools is mandatory, and appropriate action will be taken against all concerned for absences without a valid reason. The court also stated that if students are found to be disrupting their studies, they should not be allowed to appear for board examinations.
The court was hearing a case in which the CBSE had pointed out deficiencies in three schools and imposed penalties, including withdrawal of provisional affiliation. The schools had challenged this. Giving the three schools four weeks to rectify the deficiencies, the court said the schools could seek legal recourse against the adverse decision.
