The Macan has two new electric SUV versions added to the lineup by Porsche. This electric performance SUV, introduced this January, was first available in the Macan Turbo EV version. Customers now have an opportunity to choose from a wide range of standard Macan Electric to Macan 4S Electric versions. The prices now start from Rs 1.22 crore for the standard variant, while for the 4S, the same is pegged at Rs 1.39 crore. The price of the top-spec Macan Turbo Electric has now increased slightly and is at Rs 1.69 crore. All prices are ex-showroom India. Meanwhile, bookings for the new Macan range in the country have now commenced.

The standard trim ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) powered Porsche Macan, in contrast, is nearly Rs 26 lakh cheaper than the new Macan Electric variant. The new entry-level trim is rear-wheel drive only, but the new Macan 4S fills the performance gap between the Macan and the upcoming turbo model. Equipped with an EPTM system and electronically controlled Porsche Traction Management for the 4S, the system sends power individually to the respective axles five times faster than a conventional all-wheel-drive system.

The Porsche Macan Electric RWD's power comes from a 100 kWh battery pack. For power, there's a single electric motor mounted on the rear axle. It's nothing new for the Macan EV, though, available in its Macan 4 stablemate, creating 335 bhp (250 kW) rising to 355 bhp (265 kW) in launch control mode, with peak torque rated at 563 Nm. The Macan EV can hit 100 kmph from a standstill in 5.7 seconds and can reach a top speed of 220 km/h. This new standard RWD is about 110 kg lighter compared to the 4S variant, and that makes it really economical over a single charge. This results in a single charge range that's able to go a maximum of 641 km.

Well, what the new Macan 4S also receives is the new rear-axle motor in addition to the electric motor mounted at the front axle. This dual-motor setup stands at a good 442 bhp combined, and with over-boost, this goes up to half a hundred more. This electric SUV does 0-100 kmph in just 4.1 seconds with launch control. The 4S also comes standard with Porsche Active Suspension Management, or PASM electronic damping control.

It features an adaptive air suspension with a self-leveling system and adjustable height. The chassis can be further fine-tuned to attain better achievements and comfort with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus and rear-axle steering. The electric Porsche Macan, built on the PPE Premium Platform Electric structure, can be rapidly charged with a maximum power of 270 kW. The company claims the electric SUV is capable of making a 10% to 80% charge on its battery in just 21 minutes through the fast charging system.

In other changes, Porsche has thrown in its new livery: Slate Grey Neo, on the outside of every Macan. For the Macan S, new standard wheels click in at 20 inches in diameter, and the optional off-road design package should increase its daily driving utility. There is geometry changing to the front bumper with the off-road package, topping out at an approach angle of up to 17.4 degrees. Thanks to the adaptive air suspension, ground clearance creeps up by an extra 10mm, to 195mm, when specified with the off-road design pack.

Even the cabin of the new Porsche Macan Electric gets a lot of changes; it gets a 12.6-inch display for the instrument console and a 10.9-inch passenger display. Likewise, there is a head-up display, augmented reality, ambient lighting with communication lights, and a lot more.
