Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said India is fully committed to leading in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). He made these remarks after meeting former Infosys CEO and entrepreneur Vishal Sikka.
"It was an insightful interaction indeed. India is committed to taking the lead in AI, with a focus on innovation and creating opportunities for the youth," Modi wrote on Twitter.
The Prime Minister made these remarks in response to Sikka's post, in which he mentioned a deep and wide-ranging discussion with Modi on AI, its impact on India, and the priorities needed for the times to come.
Vishal Sikka said in his post, "This meeting with the Prime Minister inspired and overwhelmed me. His extraordinary understanding of the impact of technology and its future left a deep impression."
The Prime Minister said that encouraging innovation through AI and creating new opportunities for the country's youth was one of the most important tasks before his government. He also emphasized that AI will not only accelerate India's technological progress but will also establish India as a major power globally.
Experts believe that growing interest and efforts in AI could take India to new heights at a time when rapid investment and research are being carried out in the technology around the world.
