PM Modi Pushes for India-Focused AI Solutions, Warns Against Fake News
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with CEOs of AI and deep tech startups. He emphasized the widespread use of AI in agriculture, environment, education in the mother tongue, and social empowerment.
After a roundtable with the heads of global AI companies, PM Narendra Modi held an important roundtable with the CEOs of AI and deep-tech startups at Seva Tirtha on Friday.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister discussed in detail the potential for the widespread use of artificial intelligence in areas such as agriculture, environmental protection, mother-tongue higher education, and social empowerment.
The Prime Minister said that India should use AI technology in line with its development model. He emphasized the need for strong data governance and cautioned against the dangers of fake news and disinformation.

He also urged startups to innovate products that cater to specific needs in India. The Prime Minister also spoke about UPI as a successful model of simple and scalable digital innovation, and expressed his trust in Indian companies.
He also underlined the need to increase private participation in the space sector and noted that investor interest in Indian startups is steadily growing. At the meeting, CEOs and founders of 16 AI and deep tech startups presented their ideas and work.
These startups are developing solutions with population-level impact in diverse sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, cybersecurity, space, and social empowerment. The Prime Minister also congratulated the innovators for taking bold risks and developing effective solutions. Among the prominent startups participating in the meeting were Abridge, Adalat, BrainsightAI, CredoAI, and Ekacare.
