Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the maiden speech by nominated member of the Rajya Sabha C. Sadananda Master, who lost his legs in political violence in Kerala.
The Prime Minister sent a letter to Sadananda, a former teacher, to boost his morale, as he narrated the horrific incident that occurred to him by showing his prosthetic limbs in Parliament. Although the incident is blamed on left-wing activists, without naming any party, the PM wrote, "Today, this degenerate ideology has shrunk considerably, and you are sitting proudly in Parliament."
In the letter, PM Modi wrote, "You presented your views calmly and confidently. Although relatively new to Parliament, you bring with you a lifetime of service and commitment to the ideology of 'nation first.' When I heard your speech, I sensed moral strength and conviction in your words. Your courage was widely discussed in Kerala."

Remember, Sadananda Master had explicitly alleged that his legs had been amputated in an attack by CPI(M) workers three decades ago. Referring to this, the Prime Minister wrote, "People were unable to digest how, in a vibrant democracy like ours, a hardworking teacher could be attacked in this manner by followers of a retrograde ideology."
Referring to Sadananda's patriotism and pride in Indian culture, the PM also touched upon the development and political aspects of Kerala. The PM wrote, "Kerala's development is equally close to your heart. I can understand your deep anguish over the current political situation in the state. Indeed, the people of Kerala are fed up with the UDF and LDF."
Referring to his recent visit to Kerala, the Prime Minister wrote that the response he received during his visit shows that the people of the state are appreciating the vision of a 'Developed Keralam'. I am sure you are happy that the recently presented budget and its provisions will greatly benefit Kerala in various sectors. Meanwhile, Sadanand posted on Instagram and thanked PM Modi for the praise.
He wrote, "I feel truly blessed. I received a letter of appreciation from the world-famous Narendra Modi ji for my first speech in the Rajya Sabha. This invaluable encouragement from the nation and its leader will give immense strength to my purpose and spirit of service."
