Pakistan has openly protested against the International Cricket Council's (ICC) decision regarding not including Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup. After this announcement, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has issued a statement regarding Bangladesh, saying that injustice has been done to Bangladesh, and it is expected that the ICC will not adopt any double standard. It has been reported that ICC is dissatisfied with Mohsin Naqvi's statement, and a warning has been issued to him.

According to a report in The Indian Express, if Pakistan adopts a similar strict stance and decides not to participate in the T20 World Cup, the ICC could impose severe sanctions on it. These potential sanctions include suspension of all bilateral international series involving Pakistan, denial of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to foreign players for the Pakistan Super League (PSL), and exclusion from the Asia Cup.

The report, quoting a source, said, "If Pakistan decides to withdraw from the T20 World Cup, the ICC could take action at several levels. This includes not playing bilateral series with any international team, denying NOCs to foreign players for the PSL, and denying them participation in the Asia Cup."

Earlier, Mohsin Naqvi had accused the ICC of adopting "double standards." He said the treatment meted out to Bangladesh was unfair. Naqvi also clarified that Pakistan's participation in the T20 World Cup would be decided at the highest level of the government. This decision would be made after Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif returns from his foreign trip.

Speaking to reporters, Naqvi said, "Bangladesh has been treated unfairly. One country is given the freedom to make decisions whenever it wants, while the conditions for another country are completely different. Bangladesh is an important stakeholder and should not be treated this way."

The PCB has also appealed to the ICC to consider a hybrid model for Bangladesh, similar to the one implemented for Pakistan. Under this model, Pakistan is playing all its T20 World Cup matches in Colombo. Naqvi said, "Bangladesh, like Pakistan, is a full member of the ICC. If Pakistan and India can be given such facilities, then Bangladesh should also have the same rights. No country can impose its conditions on another."
