In the Agneepath scheme announced on June 14, 2022, there is a provision to recruit youth in the age group of 17 and a half to 21 years only for four years, out of which there is a provision to retain 25 per cent for 15 more years.
On January 25, the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra organised by the Congress will travel from Bakshirhat in the Bengali district of Cooch Behar to West Bengal. The padayatra will be led by Rahul Gandhi and start at the city's Maa Bhavani Chowk. On January 29, the Yatra will arrive in Bihar. But the Yatra will return to Bengal from Malda on January 31. The districts of Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, North Dinajpur, Darjeeling, Malda, and Murshidabad will be traversed by the yatra in Bengal. Throughout the five-day yatra, Congressman Rahul Gandhi will visit six districts and six Lok Sabha seats in Bengal.
