Odisha won first position for the best Republic Day tableau, followed by these two states in second and third place

Among the tableaux presented by several states and union territories during the Republic Day parade, a vibrant tableau highlighting the prosperous handicrafts and handloom sector of Odisha has taken top place.

The Dhordo tourist village tableau from Gujarat has won first place in the people's choice category. On Tuesday, the winners of the best tableau in each of the two categories were revealed. 

He was presented the award during a function organized at Delhi Cantonment.

According to officials, the tableau of the Ministry of Culture on the theme 'Mother of Democracy' got the first prize during the traditional parade. Officials said that the Home Ministry's tableau depicting vibrant villages has received the second prize. A total of 16 tableaux from states and union territories and nine from central ministries and departments came out on the duty path during the Republic Day celebrations.

The states and union territories that presented tableaux included Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Ladakh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Meghalaya, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana.

According to a senior official, Odisha's tableau stood first in the judges' choice category, while Gujarat's tableau topped the people's choice category. He said that in the judges category, Gujarat stood second while Tamil Nadu stood third. In the people's choice category, Uttar Pradesh got second place and Andhra Pradesh got third place. To select the winners in the People's Choice category, public voting was conducted through the MyGov platform.

The global recognition of Gujarat's frontier tourism was based on the theme. An artistic statue of Ram Lalla was included in the tableau of Uttar Pradesh in the Republic Day parade this year. The tableau also featured the first high-speed regional rapid transit system.
