New ‘WhatsApp Plus’ Subscription Could Bring Themes, Icons, and More Chat Pins to WhatsApp
WhatsApp is reportedly working on an optional premium subscription plan. This could provide users with additional customization and convenience features. Let's find out the details.
WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new optional premium subscription plan for its consumer app. This could potentially provide further customization and convenience to paying users. The new level, called WhatsApp Plus, is in the works for the Android and iOS versions of the app. While the main messaging service will remain free, the paid versions could provide further tools to help users customize the app and manage their chats.
According to a post by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp Plus may place a greater emphasis on visual customization. Subscribers will reportedly be able to change the app theme, adjust the accent color in the interface, and choose from several alternative app icons. Approximately 14 new icon styles are in development, along with several color options that could allow users to personalize the look and feel of the app.
Subscription tiers could also increase WhatsApp's chat pinning limit. Currently, users can pin three conversations, but WhatsApp Plus subscribers will reportedly be able to pin up to 20 chats, allowing for 17 more conversations beyond the current limit.
