FSSAI Cracks Down on Watawe Healthcare and Global Healthfit, Suspends Sale of Nutraceutical Products
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has banned nutraceutical products from Watawe Healthcare and Global Healthfit Retail India for making misleading claims.
Two nutraceutical companies named Watawe Healthcare and Global Healthfit Retail India Private Limited have been targeted by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). This was due to their involvement in misrepresentation and rule violation.
On Thursday, FSSAI informed via its online media post that the company's Follineuro Syrup and True Vitamin, respectively, are banned products. Nutraceutical comes from two words - nutrification and pharmaceutical.
Nutraceuticals are food products that can prevent or cure some diseases. FSSAI has banned Watawe Healthcare to manufacture, stock, distribute, and selling Follineuro Syrup.
