Big decision of NIA court, Indian Mujahideen terrorists sentenced to ten years in jail
A special NIA court sentenced a member of the banned terror outfit Indian Mujahideen to 10 years in prison in a 2012 terror conspiracy case. Syed Maqbool was convicted under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act by a special NIA court here on September 22.
Indian Mujahideen terrorists were sentenced to ten years in jail by a special NIA court on Thursday. An official informed that this punishment was given to a member of the banned Indian Mujahideen who was involved in the 2012 terrorist conspiracy.
Syed Maqbool was convicted under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act by a special NIA court here on September 22. He was sentenced on Thursday. An NIA spokesperson said Maqbool is the fifth person to be convicted out of the total 11 accused in the case.
On July 12, four people—Danish Ansari, Aftab Alam, Imran Khan, and Obaid-ur-Rehman—were convicted in the case and sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment. The spokesperson said Maqbool, from the Nanded area of Maharashtra, was arrested on February 28, 2013, on charges of active involvement with members of Indian Mujahideen and involvement in crime and conspiracy.
