Air India Passengers Safe After Mid-Air Technical Alert on Bengaluru-Delhi Route
An Air India flight from Bengaluru to Delhi made an emergency landing at Delhi airport after a suspected engine fire. All passengers are safe, the incident was caused by a technical fault.
Air India’s Bengaluru-Delhi flight raised concern Thursday evening following the reported engine fire. According to Jagran, an urgent landing had to be made at the Delhi airport following the reported problem. Fortunately for the passengers, everybody on board is said to be safe.
According to Jagran, there were suspicions of a possible engine fire or technical fault mid-air, which prompted the pilot to alert the air traffic and make an emergency landing at the Delhi Airport.
Earlier Thursday, Air India’s AI2651 flight bound for Bengaluru from Delhi suffered a tail strike on landing. The aircraft's tail reportedly came into contact with the ground as it landed safely. The plane carried 181 passengers. A tailstrike occurs when the tail of the aircraft touches the ground during takeoff or landing.
