Mohsin Naqvi is ready to hand over the Asia Cup trophy to India, but has put forward this 'condition'
Asia Cup Trophy Controversy: India defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets in the final of the Asia Cup 2025. After bowling out Pakistan for 146 runs in 19.1 overs, India achieved the target in 19.4 overs to win the Asia Cup title.
The controversy surrounding the Asia Cup trophy is deepening. Mohsin Naqvi, President of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), has categorically rejected reports that he had apologized to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) following the controversy surrounding the Asia Cup trophy ceremony.
Mohsin Naqvi targeted the Indian media, calling all reports fabricated and propaganda. He wrote on social media, "The Indian media thrives on lies, not facts." Let me make it absolutely clear that I have done nothing wrong. I have never apologized to the BCCI, nor will I."
He further wrote, "This is fabricated, nonsense, and simply cheap propaganda, aimed solely at misleading its own people. Unfortunately, India continues to drag politics into cricket, which hurts the spirit of the game."

He laid down a condition for handing over the Asia Cup trophy to India, writing, "As ACC President, I was ready to hand over the trophy that day, and I remain so now. If they truly want it, they can come to the ACC office and collect it from me."
After winning the Asia Cup 2025, the Indian team refused to accept the trophy from ACC President Mohsin Naqvi. Naqvi is Pakistan's Home Minister and also the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Naqvi stood on the stage for a long time, after which officials took the trophy back.
The ACC meeting was held on Tuesday (September 30). During this meeting, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice President Rajiv Shukla repeatedly urged Mohsin Naqvi to hand over the Asia Cup trophy to the Indian team. The BCCI clearly stated that the ACC Trophy is not anyone's personal property. The trophy belongs to us and there will be no negotiations on it.
