Meta platform switched off its generative AI tool in Brazil. Meta announced on Wednesday that it decided to stop using generative artificial intelligence tools in Brazil, in the face of government objections to its new privacy policy around personal data and AI.
Meta, which has more than 200 million users in Brazil, is the second-largest market of Meta's WhatsApp after India. Only last month, Meta had launched its first AI tool for WhatsApp and Facebook.
This month, the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority suspended, with full immediacy, the validity of Meta's new privacy policy for the use of personal data to train artificial intelligence generative systems within the country.
