Massive AWS Outage Disrupts Amazon, Venmo, Snapchat, and Other Apps in the US

Thousands of US users reported on Monday that various Amazon online services failed abruptly. Downdetector reported that multiple services, such as Amazon.com, Prime Video, and Alexa, were down.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) gave an update on its status page: "We can confirm increased error rates and latency for several services in the US-EAST-1 region." Thousands of websites and applications were affected by this technical glitch.
The outage in Amazon's cloud service was also felt on platforms like Robinhood, Snapchat, Perplexity, and PayPal's Venmo. All of these apps informed their users of a temporary issue.

Arvind Srinivas, CEO of the AI chatbot Perplexity, said the outage was due to an AWS server issue. He wrote on Twitter, "Perplexity is currently down. The primary reason is an AWS issue. We are working on a quick fix."
