The government is always working on improving Indian Railways. Technological advancements and mobile applications are also helping to improve passenger services. Although earlier, when people would face the problem of missing baggage on a train, it was a matter of losing hope; now the issue can be resolved in a matter of clicks and calls.
It was on the 27th of December that a traveler to Bhopal via the Dakshin Expressway realized that she had left her iPad in the train upon alighting. This happened an hour later. Her iPad held valuable study material that left her extremely worried. In a distress state of mind, the traveler dialed the railway helpline #139 and lodged a complaint through the RailMadad mobile application regarding her lost luggage. In response to the complaint lodged, the railways immediately acted upon it and notified the authorities.
According to the passenger, within minutes, a call came from the railway helpline. The TTE and RPF personnel on the train immediately contacted them. With the help of railway staff at the next station, Itarsi, the iPad was safely recovered.
