KTM has launched a new top-end variant of the 160Duke in the Indian market. The major update in the new variant is its TFT instrument cluster, which is taken directly from the KTM 390Duke. This proves that the 160 Duke is an even more powerful offering in its class in terms of its features.

This new variant of the KTM 160 Duke includes the same information on the TFT dashboard as the 390 Duke. This screen allows the user to choose two different themes. This is good since the 4-way switchgear is the same, which means that there are no changes required by the user. KTM has clarified that the variant with the LCD screen will still be offered. This allows the buyer to choose which one they prefer.

In terms of features, there are no major changes. The new TFT variant also offers the same Bluetooth connectivity and app support. Riders can control music, check incoming calls, and use turn-by-turn navigation via the KTM app. However, the TFT display now displays all this information with clearer, sharper, and premium graphics.

KTM 160 Duke Base Variant The base variant (LCD dash) is priced at ₹1.71 lakh (ex-showroom). The new top variant (TFT dash) is priced at ₹1.79 lakh (ex-showroom). There's a price difference of about ₹7,000 between the two.

Yamaha recently launched a TFT variant of the MT-15, giving it a feature edge. Now, KTM has addressed this issue. Although the 160 Duke TFT variant is ₹13,000 more expensive than the MT-15, KTM offers a larger 5-inch TFT display, whose resolution and graphics are said to be superior to the MT-15's 4.2-inch TFT display.

If you're considering a KTM 160 Duke and are concerned about features and a premium feel, the new TFT variant is a better option. For a slightly higher price, you get a larger, sharper, and more advanced display. However, the base variant remains a sensible option for budget-conscious buyers. Overall, KTM has made the 160 Duke more competitive in the segment with this update.
