Jump in the sales of Passenger Vehicles last month, SIAM released figures
SIAM Sales Report: Total dispatches last month increased to 2141208 units from 2093286 units in September 2022. Total sales in the September quarter increased to 6116091 units from 6052739 units in Q2 2022-23. Passenger vehicle dispatches increased marginally to 1074189 units in the second quarter from 1026309 units in the July-September period of the last financial year.
Industry body SIAM on Monday said wholesale passenger vehicle sales in India rose 1.87 percent year-on-year to 3,61,717 units last month. The delivery of passenger vehicles to dealers in September 2022 stood at 3,55,043 units. Similarly, two-wheeler sales increased to 17,49,794 units last month from 17,35,199 units in the year-ago period, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) said. Dispatches of commercial vehicles increased to 2,47,929 units from 2,31,991 units in the year-ago period. Total sales of three-wheelers increased to 1,95,215 units in the second quarter from 1,20,319 units in the same period last fiscal.
Total two-wheeler sales declined to 45,98,442 units in July-September 2023, compared to 46,73,931 units in the year-ago period.
Last month, total wholesale sales of three-wheelers increased to 74,418 units in September 2022 from 50,626 units. Total dispatches last month increased to 21,41,208 units from 20,93,286 units in September 2022. Total sales increased to 61,16,091 units in the September quarter from 60,52,739 units in Q2 2022-23.
Passenger vehicle dispatches increased marginally to 10,74,189 units in the second quarter from 10,26,309 units in the July-September period of the last financial year.
