In a special court here on Saturday, Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal folded his hands and said that he had given up on life and that it would be better to be imprisoned than to continue living in this condition. Goyal is accused of defrauding Canara Bank out of Rs. 538 crore. Simply pass away.

He was brought before the court on Saturday, and the judge granted his plea for a brief personal hearing during the proceedings. As per the 'Roznama' (daily hearing record) kept by the court, Goyal expressed with shaking and folded hands that his health had declined. His sole daughter is ill, and his wife is bedridden. Even prison staff, he noted, has limitations on how much they can assist.
The judge stated, "I paid close attention to what he had to say and watched him as he presented his arguments." I discovered that he was trembling all over. To stand, they also require assistance. I've thought about everything he said, the judge declared.
I assured that he would not be left destitute and that his mental and physical health would be taken every possible care and treatment would be provided. The court directed his lawyers to take appropriate steps regarding his health.
