The journey of England's fast bowler James Anderson began in 2002 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and ended tonight at Lord's. The renowned England bowler grabbed four wickets against the West Indies in his penultimate match, contributing significantly to the team's three-day victory. Anderson mentioned a significant thing for India as he left.

Anderson said, "These 20 years have been fantastic. It was great to see the reaction of the audience. It has been very special. Whenever I wore this shirt, I tried to win the match for England. Emotions kept going up and down. You cannot have a long career without a support network behind you. This is our family's journey as well as ours. I have said earlier that winning series and Test matches is the only thing I was interested in. Winning in Australia and India and contributing to those victories was the most special.

Anderson made his international debut against Australia in Melbourne in 2002. He played 187 Tests, 194 ODIs and 19 T20 matches in a career spanning 22 years. Anderson has taken 704 wickets in Test cricket, 269 in ODIs, and 18 in T20 Internationals. He has played the most number of Test matches against India and Australia, 39 each. He has taken 149 wickets against India and sent 117 Kangaroo batsmen to the pavilion.
