Instagram has added a new custom font for its Edits app, which is focused on its Reels feature. Now, people in India have the option to make Instagram Reels with text from 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' on Instagram. This comes after the movie starring Ranveer Singh crossed the ₹1,000 crore mark at the global box office within a few weeks of its release.

In other Instagram news, an app developer has stated that Instagram is testing a feature for its users to download Instagram Reels for offline use, but it is not yet clear when it will be rolled out as an update.

On Friday, the US-based social media platform announced that it is adding a new 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge'-inspired font style to the Edits app. This will allow users to create Reels in the same font style as the film's poster and recreate them using their own videos and photos.

The company said that this new custom font style reflects the film's style, allowing creators to create Reels based on the new film directed by Aditya Dhar, which was released in the country on March 19. This new font style is currently available in India on Android and iOS devices.

Here's a step-by-step guide to create Reels in the 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge'-inspired font style.

  1. If you haven't yet downloaded the Edits app, download it from the Google Play Store or Apple's App Store.
  2. Next, log in to the app with your Instagram account.
  3. Tap the 'Create' button in the bottom-right corner of the screen, represented by a '+' (plus) symbol.
  4. You can choose to create a Reel from a video or photo in your Gallery, or open the Camera app and take a new video or photo.
  5. The editor will then open as a new project > click the 'Text' tool in the bottom left corner > and type your text.
  6. Once done, you can click the third option from the left in the menu bar, indicated by 'Aa', and then scroll down to find the Dhurandhar font style.
  7. Select the Dhurandhar-inspired font style > tap Done > Next.
  8. You can now download the Reel or share it on other social media platforms, including Instagram.
  • Instagram may soon allow users to download Reels for offline viewing.

In a post on Instagram's microblogging platform, Threads, app developer Alessandro Paluzzi shared two screenshots. He claims the social media platform is testing a feature to automatically download Reels for offline viewing. While the company hasn't confirmed this yet, it's expected that this feature will be released as part of a future update. It will appear as a 'Manage offline downloads' button in the 'more' menu on Reels.
