Elon Musk's satellite internet has been launched in Bangladesh lately, after which users in India were concerned about the price since the price of Starlink in Bangladesh is too costly. Now, it's time for the launch of Starlink in India too. Elon Musk's company Starlink has now planned to launch its internet services via satellites in India. It has been reportedly said that the price of the internet plan of Starlink might be less than Rs 850 per month. The unique thing is that along with the launching offer, users might even receive unlimited data.

Earlier this month, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) of the Government of India issued a Letter of Intent to Starlink to launch its services in India, but the final approval hasn't been issued yet. Aside from this, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has recommended a charge of Rs 500 per user in urban areas, which would make the price of satellite internet higher than conventional broadband. Apart from it, a total of 4% AGR fee, an annual fee of Rs 3,500 per block of the spectrum, and 8% licensing fees will be payable by Starlink to provide services in India.

What will be available in Starlink plan?

  • The starting price of the plan will be less than ₹ 850
  • Initial promotional plan with unlimited data
  • Target to add more than 1 crore users in India
  • Effort to compensate for high spectrum cost through low price

If these plans come true, Starlink's internet plan in India will be one of the cheapest satellite internet plans in the world.

Starlink is a satellite internet service developed by Elon Musk's SpaceX company. This service uses the world's largest low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite network, which is located 550 km above the Earth. Its specialty is that it can provide high-speed, low-latency broadband connectivity even in remote and rural areas.
