The biggest private sector bank in the country, HDFC Bank on Wednesday said that the standalone net rose marginally 2% to Rs 16,736 crore in the third quarter, which ended December 2024. The bank posted a net profit of Rs 16,373 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.

HDFC Bank said in a regulatory filing that total income on a standalone basis rose to Rs 87,460 crore in the third quarter of FY25 from Rs 81,720 crore in the same period a year ago.

The bank's profit on a consolidated basis also improved marginally to Rs 17,657 crore from Rs 17,258 crore. Consolidated total income declined to Rs 1,12,194 crore from Rs 1,15,016 crore at the end of the October-November quarter of last year.

On the asset quality front, the bank's gross non-performing assets (NPAs) rose to 1.42% of gross loans by the end of December 2024 from 1.26% a year ago.

Net NPA or bad loans rose to 0.46% in 2023 compared to 0.31%.
