Google unveiled its new Pixel 9a smartphone in Indian and global markets on Wednesday. The new mid-range "a" series device of Google is powered by the same Tensor G4 chip that was used with the Pixel 9 series last year. The device has a 48-megapixel primary rear camera and a 5100mAh battery that offers more than 30 hours of battery life. The device is built on Android 15 and will receive 7 years of OS and security updates according to company claims.
The Indian price of Google Pixel 9a has been kept at Rs 49,999. The device will be available in 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variants. When it comes to colors, it will come in Iris, Obsidian, Peony, and Porcelain colors. The Pixel 9a will go on sale in India in April, as announced by Google, though it has not announced the date.
Pixel 9a is a dual-SIM (eSIM + Nano) device with Android 15 as its base. It has a 6.3-inch pOLED Actua display with a refresh rate that can be adjusted between 60 to 120Hz. The display has a peak brightness of up to 2700 nits and is Gorilla Glass 3 protected.
