Google finally launched the Gemini app for iOS users after a long wait. It took a while for the Gemini app to be tested on the iOS app. In addition to Gmail, iOS users will now be able to generate AI images and complete tasks of apps like YouTube with the Google Gemini app. The iOS app also supports Gemini Live.

Google has informed about the launch of the Gemini app for iOS in a blog post. Google has stated in the blog that it has been introduced to provide a smoother experience to iPhone users. This app is available for free on Apple's App Store. It is powered by the Gemini family of large language models (LLMs), such as Gemini 1.5.

Among these upgrade features, the inclusion is Gemini Live, which was introduced at this year's Google I/O event in August and allows users to voice a chat with an AI chatbot. The user can choose any of these voices from its 10 options because each has its characteristic tone, pitch, and pronunciation in order for one to personalize that voice.

The Gemini Live feature also was available with the iOS app. It appeared as a waveform icon sporting a sparkle icon in the bottom right corner, while the icons for the microphone and camera flank it. The company describes the feature as for chatting, finding answers, or thinking. Currently, the feature is available in more than 10 languages and more languages will be added over the coming months.

This iOS version of Gemini will also enable the model to create images with Google's Imagen 3 generative AI model. And with the iOS extensions, you can even learn more with new sources like Maps and YouTube, or summarize your PDF documents using Gemini.
